The Shell Houston Open

This tournament is always a tease of arguably the best weekend of the year. It is kinda sad as it could be one of the tour's better events, and is in a major city. It usually finishes though with a feel good story where a grinding journeyman tour player punches his ticket to The Masters, and finally gets to take the drive down Azelea Lane at Augusta National the following week. This year was no different. Russell Henley fought off rain delays and was able to fire a 65 on Sunday to out shoot out Sung Kang and a brief Rickie Fowler charge to capture the win.

Russell Henley is a alum of UGA class of '06 and is on the older side of the young guns that has graduated from the Web.com tour up to the PGA Tour. Henley is easy to get lost in the crowd from the noise that guys like Smylie and J.T. are making, but make no mistake this guy can play. The was Henley's third on the PGA Tour, and earned himself a shot at a Green Jacket this week as well.

The Course

Even with rains early in the week and on Sunday Brian Buckner and is crew kept things firm and fast making it a great prep for this weeks major. He also was a good twitter follow giving a cool look behind the scenes at the work they were doing. You can find him on twitter at  @GCOsuper.

The Masters

The first major is here, its time to cash in those sick days, give your clicker to someone else and sit on the couch and listen to the sweet sweet voice of Jim Nantz while you take in arguably the best nap of the year. Bob’s picks will be released on Wednesday afternoon. Stay tuned if you want to win some beer money.
