Fresh off his residency in a Hooter's parking lot down the road from Augusta National John Daly was back on the course in Myrtle Beach today. He was playing in a ProAm event called the Monday after the Masters (MAM). While it has Masters in the name the event is much more relaxed, as you can see below Big John has his shirt untucked and is going barefoot. That isn't too out of place for him though. The crazy thing is how well he hits his drive off the top of a beer can. He's still 10,000x better than I am using a freaking tee. As you can see after the man also is not one to let a cold beer go to waste.
More on MAM
After coming across the video I felt it was also necessary to research the event a little. The MAM is one the top Pro-Am's events in the country that this year featured touring pros: Natalie Gulbis, Billy Horschel, Davis Love III, Will Wilcox, Paige Spiranac, Ken Duke among others. The names in the celebrity category were pretty decent as well: Rick Barry (NBA Free Throw Leader), Mike Golic, Dan Patrick, Darius Rucker, Jim McMahon, and others. The event was first played in 1994 and has donated millions to Special Education programs in South Carolina and to youth golf in the state. The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort was this year's host course, you may have seen on Golf Channel's Big Break Myrtle Beach. John Hughes is the Director of Golf Maintenace at the resort.
