With the first round withdraw of my predicted champion Jason Day my picks immediately caught flames.
In all seriousness though, we hope that Day’s mother has a speedy recovery. I know that if she has half the intensity Jason does on the course, she’ll be able to kick cancer’s ass.
As for the remainder of the tournament, Rahm continued his hot streak by proving to be the superior Spaniard in taking down Garcia. This guy is slowly solidifying himself as a legit contender every week from a young gun.
DJ was able to shootout Hideto Tanihara in his semi finals match. One can only imagine some of that cig smoke Tanihara was blowing caught hold of DJ’s lung and pushed him to win.
The final match of DJ vs Rahm was one of DJ’s only challenges this week. Other than his semi finals match and his finals match, he pretty much bullied everyone around on this ever-downhill course.
DJ plans to take this week off in order to prepare for this year’s first major, where everyone can’t wait to watch him take on Augusta at full force.
For this week, the Huston Open is always a great interlude into the masters. To get a look of the course, take a look at content carl’s preview.
Picks of the Week
For my picks this week, I can assure ill be pounding big bills in your pockets.
Look at Spieth, the guy always takes texas courses by the balls 6.5/1.
Its hard not to put money on Rahm as the only guy to beat him isn’t playing this week 10/1.
Also look at J.B. Holmes a previous winner of the tournament 33/1.
Sleeper: Ollie Schniederjans this young gun is due for a win and nothing would be better to get a masters birth for him 80/1.
Stay Away: Keegan Bradley, this guy is still probly perfecting his pre shot routine and being from the Northeast is gonna be no help in Texas.
